Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. continues to partner with community organizations, local businesses and neighbors to activate Las Canchas at 250 Seward Ave. on the Westside of Downtown.

The once underutilized, mostly empty parking lot is now home to Las Canchas de Futbol Communitarias, the Downtown Community Garden, and will now host a farmers market throughout the summer.

These efforts align with goals in the GR Forward master plan to activate public space, support local businesses and increase access to fresh and local food.

Creating a multi-use, accessible space for the community to use for recreation, gathering and gardening helps foster a more vibrant and welcoming Downtown.

Farmers Markets at Las Canchas will take place the second Sunday of every month from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8, October 13).

Parking is available in the lot for $3 and Las Canchas are located directly on the free DASH route. Shared mobility options are available, as well.
