Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. (DGRI) is partnering with farmers, local food and soft goods vendors, community-based organizations and musicians to provide a weekly Farmers Market at Las Canchas this summer.

Last summer’s Farmers Market at Las Canchas provided a new fresh food option Downtown on the second Sunday of each month and included additional community activities and entertainment. Vendors and attendees voiced their desire for more events and market opportunities this year leading to an expansion of the schedule.

From June 4 to October 1, the Farmers Market at Las Canchas takes place every Wednesday from 4:30 – 7:30 PM. This year’s market features over 20 local farms and food vendors, 10 local non-food goods vendors, a rotation of 8 local food trucks, local government and community organizations and live DJ performances.

Las Canchas are located at 250 Seward Ave. just south of Bridge St. Previously an underutilized surface parking lot, the location is now home to Las Canchas and the Downtown Community Garden. The weekly Farmers Market at Las Canchas will contribute to the activation of this space which currently hosts official and pick-up street soccer, as well as regular programming at the Downtown Community Garden in partnership with Jade Rabbit.
