Downtown Grand Rapids Inc (DGRI) is excited to provide the community with a free watch party opportunity as the World Cup enters its final stages.

Following an incredible event on June 19, DGRI is rolling out the big screen again at Las Canchas on Saturday, July 11 for two quarterfinal matches.

The party starts at 4:30PM with kickoff for Norway vs. England at 5PM. The action continues at 9:00PM with kickoff for Argentina vs. Switzerland.

This community celebration includes food truck service from Los Pinches Tacos, Manny’s Hometown BBQ, and Kona Ice.

The watch party will also feature pickup soccer games on all three courts at Las Canchas.

“This year’s World Cup tournament has been incredible, and the community excitement throughout Grand Rapids has been amazing,” said Corey Mathein, Project Manager at DGRI. “Las Canchas has been a welcoming and accessible space for the community to gather and play since we opened in 2022, and we’re excited to host another free watch party for everyone to enjoy.”

DGRI’s audiovisual partner, LiveSpace, will setup the giant LED screen. DGRI will provide chairs on a first come, first served basis, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating.

Las Canchas are part of the Downtown Refreshment Area, so attendees can grab an adult beverage from participating local businesses and bring it to Las Canchas.
